1. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) of Eastern Pennsylvania held its Second Annual Fall Reception on Wednesday, October 24th to thank their donors and supporters. The evening began at the Center of Emerging Visual Artists (CEVA), a collaborative partner of LLS, where guests enjoyed the magnificent work of artists Don Edler and Jennifer Williams. The celebration continued at the home of Bonnie Barnes of Philadelphia, where guests received a personal research update from Dr. Bruce Levine, Director of Clinical Cell and Vaccine Production Facility at the University of Pennsylvania. LLS is currently funding 14 researchers in the Philadelphia region at the University of Pennsylvania, The Children?s Hospital of Philadelphia, Drexel University College of Medicine and Fox Chase Cancer Center. The health agency also provides patient services programs, including a wide range of education and support services to blood cancer patients and their families, including financial aid and an insurance co-pay assistance program.
